Low Camp – High Camp (Mardi Himal), 3.580m

July, 2019

It’s July, 2019. I was pretty exhausted. By the temperature, high altitude, too much nature, too much forest, too much not seeing anything.

When we achieved our level – High Camp, 3.580m. I thought, “Yeah, here we go, but where the hell Himalayas are?” It was still cloudy.

A nightmare in the forest

I will never forget this day, especially the morning when I woke up in the Low Camp. Raining, raining and raining. I had very light breakfast and I just wanted to get out of that place. And still, when it is raining you can be sure, that the main focus is going to be on leeches.

New friends

Forest, forest and forest. Like, that’s it? Where all mountains are? Still cloudy and I hadn’t seen anything. We are climbing from the Low Camp to the High Camp. And still the forest. Madan told me that this way is good, and we will see Annapurna today. What a joke! After one a half hour, we stopped in the Badal Danda. I am saying, very exhausted: “We have to stop here, I want to have Masala tea”. Just one a half hour and it is just a third day? How am I going to survive and finish my trek? And I don’t know how the whole magic happened but there were people in the Tea House. Like group of people were talking and laughing. I was so tired and after so many days by myself only, I was missing any company of somebody else. And what I really know to do is that I was being like a storm. I screamed ‘I hate this trek’. – ‘What are you doing here, all of you?’ – ‘Where all mountains are?’ And I met my first new friend Ráj. In my language “Ráj” means “Paradise” and I was like being in heaven at that time. There are sitting people also from Korea, and France. Korean girl Seo and boy Juesung. Two girls from France, Alex and Roxanne. And I couldn’t have been more than happy. It was the happier moment ever. We went to the High Camp together. We stayed in a Tea House all together as well. We met also two more boys from France and since then the whole story had begun.

Just photos of our first Himalayas’ impression …

First time, we could enjoy views on mountains such as Machhapuchhre (6.993m) and Annapurna South (7.219m) from High Camp. I will never forget the feeling cannot be explained by words.

If you wanna achieve anything, don’t give up. Forget everything and do it!!! Because the next day, just for a few hours, I know what I have gained by it… more than I could have imagined.

There are no limits to the things we can achieve in life, so why create limits for yourself?
